Contact the council and tell them you’re making a homeless application. They must help if you’re homeless or about to become homeless.

You’ll get somewhere to stay straight away if you need it.

How to make a homeless application in the Shetland Islands

Weekdays

Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

Evenings, overnight and weekends

What the council must do

  1. Accept your homeless application and interview you about your situation
  2. Give you temporary accommodation if you need it
  3. Give you a written decision about your application
